What is Hypnosis?
Magic it is not; it is no more than a state of deep relaxation.
We have all slipped into it at one time or another without realizing
it. You get behind the wheel of your car, put your foot on the gas
pedal and then find yourself at your destination with the last thing
you remember was pullng out of the driveway.
How did that happen you ask? Well, your conscious mind was focused
somewhere else. You started thinking of something which was more
important to you while your subconscious mind took over the actual
mechanics of driving the car. Had a car suddenly stopped in front
of you, instantaneously you would have come to full consciousness
and responded appropriately.
This is an example of what is called an "altered state of
consciousness" and this is what it is like when you are in
that deep state of relaxation called a hypnotic trance or hypnosis.
No magic here, as it is you who puts yourself into an altered state.
In fact it can be argued that all hypnosis is, in reality, self-hypnosis.
Just as you were always in control in the driving example, so you
will be when you are experiencing guided hypnosis with a clinical
therapist.
Tools
Once it took years of work to deal with traumas from our past,
negative memories, fears; limiting beliefs and behavior patterns
but now with tools like Hypnosis,
EFT and NLP,
which are easily learned, an individual can clear up many such problems
in a relatively short peridiod of time.
If you sincerely want to get rid of the stresses in your life,
which can show upas smoking, weight, anxiety, fear of flying, or
public speaking, and if you are willing to make a modest effort
by working with a qualified therapist, who can teach you how to
use these tools, it can be done with a minimum of time.
